Wind Challenges Oregon Golf Courses
Oregon is quickly becoming known for its green, greens and pristine golf courses. Take, for instance, the Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, where greens fees top out at $34 - and if you'll be in the area for a while, a 10-play card runs just $250. Just outside of Portland is the Eastmoreland Golf Course, where greens fees don't go higher that $32 and the Rhododendron Gardens and Crystal Springs Lake make the scene all the more beautiful.

Also keep in mind, that the Oregon golf courses on the Southern Oregon coast are getting a reputation as a site for some of the world’s best golf. It’s a challenge to get on Bandon Dunes golf course, and once you’re there, the wind can make play near impossible.

Wind magnifies any spin you put on the ball, minimize side spin as much as possible. But don’t ignore the impact of wind on your putting stroke. Strong winds can knock a promising putt offline. Take into account direction and speed of the wind for all your shots. It is always worthwhile to call the golf course on the morning of your scheduled Oregon tee time to inquire about the wind conditions.
