Go Big on Texas Golf Courses
It's no secret that everything is bigger in Texas - and that includes the golf courses. The public Keeton Park Golf Course in Dallas goes some 6,500 total yards and the wide open fairways will find favor with vets and novices alike. In San Antonio the La Cantera Resort Course offers Troon-style golf (tree-less, undulating, rolling and extremely challenging) on two delectable courses - try the newer Palmer Course for a true treat. Package deals may be your best bet and as always, off-peak months will keep your costs down considerably.

When playing Texas golf, keep in mind that the relatively dry, flat land can produce some great golf courses for long hitters. If you lack the distance you’d like to have, put special emphasis on your takeaway when you schedule your Texas tee time, on-line or by phone.

Take the club straight back for as far as you can, setting up a larger arch to your swing. Keep your wrists still and let them “hinge” naturally after you’ve taken the club back straight for at least 18 inches.
