Golf Courses in Columbus, OH

Ohio's capital city is the state's most significant golf hotspot, thanks largely in part to beloved son Jack Nicklaus, who was born and raised here and later attended Ohio State University. His home course, Muirfield Village, hosts the PGA Tour every year and is considered to be perhaps his finest work in golf course design. Golf no doubt has a storied history here thanks to the Golden Bear, but it dates back further. Famed architect Alister MacKenzie built the Buckeyes' home course, and architect Donald Ross laid out the renowned Scioto as well as others in the area. Public golf, while not as well known nationally, is certainly abundant, thanks to a strong municipal golf scene as well as numerous public and semi-private facilities, and perhaps the next Nicklaus is walking one of these fairways today.
